No camera - I feel naked - aagh

My two and I went out with my friend and her children last week, which was cut short as My boy wasn't feeling very well - in the course of this I left my camera in her car - and have not managed to get it back yet - I didn't realise just how much I use it until now - we had a power cut last night and had to use candles everywhere - it was pancake day though wasn't it - so I had to get the matches and light the hob - and make pancakes by candle light - I would love to have taken pictures of it all - and later we went out to the shop - on the way back we had bought some doughnuts - Lee suggested we sit on the bench in the village and eat them - it was lovely - a really nice evening - we could see for miles and there we were all of us scoffing these gorgeous apple doughnuts - another photo opportunity missed - aagh - I am seeing her on Friday and she had better remember to bring my camera - especially as she is coming her for a meal - we are having a girly night 5 of us - what am I making - cheese and cider fondue with all the trimmings - yummy scrummy and a glass of vino or three - hee hee

Valentines day tomorrow

I am sat here trawling the internet for little poems to put inside of a heart shaped book that I am making for my hubby - and have just come across this - gulp

Roses For Rose
Red roses were her favorites; her name was also Rose,
And every year her husband sent them tied with pretty bows.
The year he died the roses were delivered to her door,
The card said "Be My Valentine" like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year than last year on this day,
My love for you will always grow with every passing year,
"She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.
She thought he ordered roses in advance before this day,
Her loving husband did not know that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early way before the time,
Then if he got too busy everything would work out fine.
She trimmed the stems and placed them in a very special vase,
Then sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours in her husband's favorite chair,
While staring at his picture and the roses sitting there.

A year went by and it was hard to live without her mate,
With loneliness and solitude that had become her fate
.Then the very hour as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang and there were roses sitting by her door.
She brought the roses in and then just looked at them in shock,
Then went to get the telephone to call the florist shop.
The owner answered and she asked him if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her causing her such pain?
"I know your husband passed away more than a year ago,
"The owner said, "I knew you'd call and you would want to know."
"The flowers you received today were paid for in advance,
Your husband always planned ahead he left nothing to chance."
"There is a standing order that I have on file down here,
And he has paid well in advance you'll get them every year."
"There also is another thing that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card he did this years ago."
"Then should ever I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card that should be sent to you the following year.

"She thanked him and hung up the phone her tears now flowing hard,
Her fingers shaking as she slowly reached to get the card.
Inside the card she saw that he had written her a note,
Then as she stared in total silence this is what he wrote.

Hello my love I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.
I know it must be lonely and the pain is very real,
For if it was the other way I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life,
I loved you more than words can say you were the perfect wife.
You were my friend and lover you fulfilled my every need,
I know it's only been a year but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy even when you shed your tears,
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.
When you get these roses think of all the happiness,
That we had together and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will,
But my love you must go on you have some living still.
Please try to find happiness while living out your days,
I know it is not easy but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered when the florist stops to knock.
He will come five times that day in case you have gone out,
But after his last visit he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place where I've instructed him,
And place the roses where we are together once again.-

ok so it wasn't so short but how lovely

what about this one

That Is Love
Love is a strange and beautiful thing,
It spans time and space,
distance is no object to love.
You will wait forever for the one you love,
Travel wherever you need to be with them.
When you are in the arms of the one you love,
That love can make a moment last a lifetime,
Yet make a lifetime seem no more than a moment.
When love is distant it grows strong,
When it returns it flowers.
People crave it, strive for it, fight for it, and die for it,
And when they find it, they know they are complete.
For in the arms of the one we love is wholeness,
Belief, completeness, passion, and security.
The one we love is someone for whom we would do anything,
And never ask for anything in return.
It produces a love of all that person is and will ever be,
Regardless of what that may mean to me.
Love knows that when you are away,
That you are still loved, cherished,
thought after, and missed
By the one you love,
And they know that you love them back.
That is Love.-

Today I

took the day off - it didn't look good for the children to be able to go to school so yesterday I thought I'd plan in advance and took a days leave for today. This morning, saw the school was open and thought I would take advantage of the situation and have some time to myself - things have been so crazy just recently. I intended to get lots of scrapping done but aaaagh instead I have spent the whole morning updating my dt craft blog - it just wouldn't seem to go where I put it - text kept jumping all over - photos wouldn't show and then were so big they drowned everything else - aaagh - I am trying so hard not to be a technophobe but aaaggghhh grr and breathe.

Today I..... saw that the lovely Rosie had given me an award - thanks hun..here it is...

hmmm now what do I do with it - pass it on I guess - like a smile pass it on and it spreads and spreads into one big smiley!! ...SO here we go..

It is my pleasure to pass this along to 5 other cyber-friends who have touched my life. It's a great way to show someone that you appreciate them; what their support means to you; and how you appreciate them.

I know I said 5 - guess I can't count - tee hee chuckles!!

Today I ...am sat in my craft room with Jessica

laying near my feet quite contented. Did I tell you we took her to the vets last week and she is indeed a Jessica and not a John or a Jimbo. It was rather funny actually - when we came out of the Vets - My son said to me - Mummy that was gross - what was Darling - that red thing he says - what red thing son - when the man lifted Jessica up to see if she was a boy or a girl - Yes darling (bearing in mind they are more at eye level where as I was stood up holding Jessica) well he lifted Jess to look - this red thing came out of her bum Mum and it was gross!!!! What do you say to a comment like that! I had to smile

I have got craft club tonight although we are a member short this evening as Jacqui is working down south today - it is nice to get together with like minded people - ok so they are not into scrapping but I do get to see a range of other crafts too - such as goldwork, embroidery, watercolour painting, etc etc the list goes on - they do all sorts and every Tuesday we sit around the table in our conservatory crafting, chatting and drinking tea!

Last night - we had snow - our back lawn was covered so the children and I set to and started to make a snowman - luckily Daddy came in from work soon after we had started and came to help

visit to hospital

Had just finished chatting to Steph and Rose on line about our fun packed weekend thats happening this coming weekend - just logged off and the phone rang - it was Mum sounding in a lot of pain so I got dressed and got in the car - half an hour later an ambulance was on its way and again I was chasing an ambulance - last time it happened was a year ago when Dad was taken in - we lost him a year ago on 28th Jan so revisiting the hospital in this way felt rather eerie. Anyway after a night in a and e I was told to go home about 0430 - Mum was on a gurney in the coridoor there were no beds - shock!!! this is the NHS what else could I have expected! Anyway I eventually went home a couple of hours later I was getting up and taking the children to school - My hubby luckily had got the children ready before he left for work and then only woken me at the last minute - bless him. Dropped them off - went and packed a few things for Mom and off again to that place! She was on the Emergency Assessment Unit and only got moved twice whilst she was in there - the good thing was I was able to stay with her all day - they had wondered if it was pancreatitious or however you spell it. The Doctor came though and saw Mom - she said you havent had a urine test - I informed them she had - it was apparently not written down in her notes or sent off for analysis. SO she had to do another one. The Doctor was very nice and apologised and to be fair she was wonderful - so calming and very kind which helped a lot - it was hard for Mom to be in the same ward that we had visited Dad in so many times. She said she would get a presciption written up for her for the pain. Quite a while later one of the nurses came and did Moms bp - think it was the new shift that had just come on duty - the nurse commented on the fact that Mom hadnt need any pain killers and how was she feeling - Mom and I well our mouths dropped open and we explained that we were waiting for the medicine - a few mins later along it then came - theyd forgotten. Anyway they were trying to get her in for a scan - she is still waiting now!!!! Hopefully she should be on the lsit for this morning!!! They have now moved her to another ward which is a lot quieter there are only 6 on it and they are all ladies which is great - only drawback is I am not allowed to visit until 1400 today! The Doctors think it is kidney stones which I understand is very painful but hopefully they should be able to deal with this quite quickly - anyway I am going to have a bit of a tidy up now and maybe an hours sleep so will sign off now
